Visually impaired content creator Kim Han-sol and his companion dog Tori delivered a deep sense of emotion to viewers by achieving meaningful results at an international dog dance competition.
On the October 25 broadcast of SBS's "TV Animal Farm," the journey of Han-sol and Tori challenging themselves at an international dog dance competition was depicted. The broadcast took first place in its time slot, recording an average household rating of 4.7% and a peak rating of 5.6% in the Seoul metropolitan area, according to Nielsen Korea.
Han-sol shared his sincere reason for taking on the dog dance challenge, saying, "I don't want the prejudice that I can't do it because I'm visually impaired to extend to Tori. I want to let Tori experience more fun things than anyone else."
On the day of the competition, with some 50 teams participating including skilled contenders from overseas such as Hong Kong and Taiwan, Han-sol took to the stage and expressed his trust in Tori, saying, "You have to be my eyes and run with me. I'm counting on you." When the music started, Tori performed intricate choreography in sync with Han-sol's movements, and the two partners flawlessly executed their prepared routine in front of unfamiliar turf and audiences, wrapping up a touching performance.
Although Han-sol and Tori did not place in the beginner category on this day, they experienced the joy of winning the "Best Handler Award"—a special judge's prize awarded to only two teams out of the approximately 50 competing.
Later, Han-sol and Tori appeared in person at the "TV Animal Farm" studio to meet the hosts. Tori maintained its composure despite the bright lights and unfamiliar environment, showing off an adorable "heart-ending" pose that drew admiration from host Shin Dong-yeob. Tony An showed a playful desire to take the dog, saying, "Come with your big brother!", filling the set with laughter.
Meanwhile, "TV Animal Farm" airs every Sunday at 9:30 AM.
