Amid continuing internal strife after an internal party investigation confirmed indications of Shincheonji members joining the Democratic Party of Korea, the party announced that it will share the investigation findings with its lawmakers during a closed-door general meeting.

Park Sung-joon, chief spokesperson for the Democratic Party, met with reporters at the National Assembly today (October 26) following a Supreme Council meeting and said, "We plan to report the findings of the (party member overhaul) task force at a future closed-door general meeting of lawmakers."

Chief Spokesperson Park stated, "We originally planned to report the investigation findings at a closed-door general meeting in November, but we have tentatively put it on hold because now is a time when the party must conclude the parliamentary audit, unite over major political issues, and gather its collective strength."

However, Supreme Council member Choi Minhee said via Facebook, "The Supreme Council never agreed to report the findings of the investigation into Shincheonji membership status at a closed-door general meeting," adding, "There are differing opinions on how to handle the results."

During today's Supreme Council meeting, Supreme Council member Han Min-soo, who is aligned with the pro-Jung Chung-rae faction, also urged a swift public disclosure of the investigation findings.

Supreme Council member Han emphasized, "We just need to disclose the truth as it is regarding the secret three-party alliance between anti-Lee Jae-myung, divisionist, and Shincheonji forces, which was mentioned by a leading party leadership candidate (current party leader Kim Min-seok) during the national convention preliminary race," adding, "This issue must be resolved early so that our party can focus more on people's livelihoods and reform."

Regarding Han's remarks, Chief Spokesperson Park added, "Supreme Council member Han is turning this into a political issue," and "Under such circumstances, we determined it would be proper to report the investigation findings at a closed-door general meeting of lawmakers."

The Democratic Party had also previously revealed divisions among its leadership over the alleged Shincheonji involvement during a Supreme Council meeting on October 23.

At that time, when pro-Jung Supreme Council member Lee Sung-yoon demanded the release of the investigation results, Supreme Council member Park Sun-won, who is aligned with the pro-Lee Jae-myung faction and led the party member overhaul task force, said he would "make a public announcement at the press center," but ultimately did not make the announcement.
