Seoul's Jamsugyo Bridge completely restricted vehicle traffic starting at midnight today (October 26) and entered construction to convert into a pedestrian-only bridge.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government aims to complete pedestrian deck expansion and paving work by August of next year, allowing for various cultural events to be held there.
Even after construction begins, pedestrians and bicyclists will still be able to use Jamsugyo Bridge for the time being.
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hun visited the Jamsugyo site yesterday and said, "Once construction is finished, another landmark of Seoul will be born, and we will adjust the construction sections so that citizens experience no inconvenience in using it."
