Fire engines and ambulances arrive, and paramedics wait with a stretcher.

Around 12:36 PM on the 24th, a woman in her 40s, identified as B, was found dead inside her home.

Police launched a pursuit, believing her former partner, a man in his 40s identified as A, murdered B and fled.

[Neighbor: (The police) seem to have arrived around 2 o'clock. About three police cars, and it seemed like they only spoke with the landlord and left.]

Immediately after the crime, A took a taxi and moved to Incheon International Airport and Wolmido, among other places.

Evading the police pursuit, A was captured by police in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, 18 hours after the incident.

The deceased victim B was found lying on her bed, and it was determined that there were no signs of forced entry.

[Paramedic: It was a posture of simply lying down, and there were marks that appeared to be pressure on the neck.]

According to the investigation, A had a record of being reported to the police twice last year for stalking the late B.

At the time, police implemented safety measures such as a restraining order and provided a smart watch. However, after B submitted a petition not to punish A a month later, the measures were canceled, and A was cleared of charges without being forwarded to prosecutors.

[Bae In-ho, Head of the Criminal Investigation Division at Daejeon Jungbu Police Station: After being apprehended, the suspect made statements admitting to the charges, saying, "I did wrong, I want to die." We are currently investigating the suspect's motive.]

Police confiscated A's mobile phone and conducted a search and seizure of his home to check whether the crime was premeditated, while planning to apply for an arrest warrant today.
