This is a fishing pier in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, where bungalows line the reservoir.
It was 10:30 PM last night when third-grader A left the bungalow where he had been playing with friends alone, saying, "I'm going to go to my dad to sleep now."
At around 11:50 PM, following an emergency call to 119 stating, "A child is missing," fire authorities deployed underwater drones and divers to conduct a search. About three and a half hours later, child A was found dead.
A police line has been set up in front of the accident site, and access is completely restricted.
Child A was found at a spot 1.7 meters deep and was not wearing a life jacket.

Police believe that child A lost his footing while heading over to a neighboring bungalow to look for his parents, and are investigating the exact circumstances.

At around 6:22 AM, a passenger was injured due to the overheating of an auxiliary battery on a flight heading from Hong Kong to Jeju.
Smoke began to rise from an auxiliary battery inside a bag, but flight attendants immediately placed the battery into specialized equipment for responding to in-cabin battery fires, preventing it from spreading into a full fire.
The owner of the battery, a Chinese national in their 50s, suffered burns to a finger and received first aid after arriving at Jeju International Airport.
