Kim Si-woo and Shin Sang-hun are tied for third place in the third round of the Genesis Championship (total purse of $4.0 million), co-sanctioned by the KPGA and DP World Tour.

Kim Si-woo, who competes on the PGA Tour, shot a 4-under 67 with four birdies and no bogeys in the third round of the tournament held today at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club (par 71) in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.

Having reached the midpoint tied for 7th at 6-under after the second round, Kim finished with a three-day total of 10-under 203, placing him in a tie for third alongside Shin Sang-hun and Antoine Rozner of France.

He sits three strokes behind Yuto Katsuragawa of Japan, who surged to sole possession of the lead at 13-under 200 after cutting 8 strokes today, putting Kim in a strong position to chase a comeback victory in the final round.

Kim, currently ranked 14th in the world—the highest among South Korean players—and a four-time winner on the PGA Tour, has not won a tournament since the Sony Open in January 2023.

A comeback victory in this tournament would not only quench his nearly four-year thirst for a title but also mark the first time he lifts a trophy at a tournament held in South Korea since turning professional.

Kim has primarily competed on the U.S. stage since passing the PGA Tour Qualifying School in December 2012.

Today, Kim steadily picked up strokes on the front nine's two par-5 holes, the 5th and 8th, and followed up on the back nine with consecutive birdies on the 11th hole (par 4) and 12th hole (par 4) to reach 10-under overall.

Shin Sang-hun, who leads this season's KPGA Tour Genesis Points (4,807 points) and ranks third in prize money (565.44 million won), continued his campaign in the top tier by shaving 3 strokes today following a 2nd-place finish in the first round and 3rd in the second, keeping his championship hopes alive.

Shin showcased his late-game strength by grabbing birdies notably on the 16th hole (par 3) and the final 18th hole (par 5).

With the rest of the top 10 filled by foreign players aside from Kim and Shin, Park Il-hwan tied for 15th at 6-under 207, while Bae Yong-jun, Moon Do-yub, and Park Eun-shin tied for 20th at 5-under 208.

Jang Yu-bin, Park Jung-hoon, Lee Sang-yeop, Lee Sang-hee, and Lee Dae-han tied for 30th at 3-under 210, and PGA Tour player Im Sung-jae, the 2019 champion of this tournament, finished the third round tied for 49th at 1-under 212.
