Professional basketball team Wonju DB overcame various adverse conditions to defeat Suwon KT, securing their second consecutive victory.

DB won 102-95 in their away game of the 2026-2027 KCC Professional Basketball regular season held today (the 23rd) at the Suwon KT Sonicboom Arena.

Even though foreign player Rayson Hammonds had to play alone as Henry Ellenson was sidelined due to a headache, DB claimed victory following their win against the Daegu KOGAS Corporation on the 19th. With two straight wins, they improved to 4 wins and 3 losses, rising to sole third place.

DB also extended their winning streak against KT to five games dating back to December of last year.

On the other hand, KT fell into a four-game losing streak starting from their game against KOGAS Corporation on the 14th, dropping to eighth place (3 wins and 5 losses).

DB narrowly led the first quarter 21-18. In the second quarter, when two foreign players could be fielded simultaneously, DB engaged in a see-saw battle with KT, where Paris Bass and Trey Porter played together, ending the first half ahead 49-48.

Led by Ethan Alvano (8 points), players scored evenly.

As soon as the second half began, DB conceded 11 consecutive points starting with Moon Jeong-hyun's perimeter shot, falling behind 49-59.

Boosted by Lee Yong-woo, who sank three 3-pointers in the third quarter alone, DB quickly mounted a chase and leveled the score at 66-66 with about three minutes remaining. However, KT responded with nine unanswered points combined by Ha Yoon-gi, Bass, and Kang Seong-wook, leaving DB trailing 71-79 heading into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter was a series of unfortunate events for DB.

On the very first defensive play, Jung Hyo-geun was ejected after picking up his fifth foul, and less than two minutes into the quarter, Kang Sang-jae even went to the bench due to an injury.

As they narrowed the gap amidst Alvano's performance, even 200cm second-year forward Lee Yu-jin had to leave the court with five fouls 7 minutes and 5 seconds before the end, dealing a heavy blow to their height.

However, fueled by strong defense and the active performances of the Alvano-Hammonds duo, DB successfully turned the game around 87-86 with a 3-point play by Hammonds 6 minutes and 4 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Afterward, Kim Bo-bae, a 202cm domestic big man substituted in for the ejected Lee Yu-jin, made his presence felt on both offense and defense, allowing DB to maintain their lead.

DB solidified their victory with a dunk by Kim Bo-bae 3 minutes and 1 minute left to make it 97-90, followed by Alvano's 3-pointer 2 minutes and 27 seconds remaining to extend the score to 100-90.

For DB, Hammonds exploded with 30 points and 6 rebounds, Alvano recorded 26 points, 11 assists, and 5 rebounds, and Kang Sang-jae added 10 points.

For KT, Bass fought hard with 26 points and 9 rebounds, Kang Seong-wook with 15 points and 7 assists, and Moon Jeong-hyun with 14 points and 9 rebounds.
