A fire broke out at a metal machinery processing factory in Wonchang-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, at around 9:25 a.m. today (October 23).

As a result of the fire, a worker in their 60s, identified as Mr. A, suffered burns to his legs and hands and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Fire authorities mobilized about 60 firefighters and 23 pieces of equipment, including pumper trucks, and completely extinguished the fire after 47 minutes.

Police and fire authorities believe the fire was caused by static electricity inside a dust collector at the factory and plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
