Professional baseball club Hanwha Eagles, which recently entrusted its helm to Manager Ryu Ji-hyun, has recruited two new coaches.

The Hanwha club announced on October 23 that it has brought in former LG Twins pitching coach Kim Kwang-sam and former NC Dinos defensive coach Jin Jong-gil.

Like Manager Ryu, Coach Kim will continue his coaching career with a professional team other than LG for the first time.

After graduating from Shinil High School, Coach Kim began his playing career with LG in 1999 and played through 2016.

Following his retirement, he served as a rehab and pitching coach for LG's developmental squad starting in 2017, a minor league pitching coach, and a first-team bullpen coach, before serving as the first-team pitching coach beginning in 2024.

He has previously worked alongside Manager Ryu as manager and pitching coach not only at LG but also for the South Korean national baseball team.

Coach Jin, a graduate of Busan High School and Dong-eui University, was selected by the Samsung Lions in the 2000 rookie draft.

He retired from the Hanwha Eagles in 2005, began his coaching career at Dong-eui University in 2007, and served as a tactical, defensive, and baserunning coach for NC from 2013 through this season.

The two coaches will join Hanwha's autumn finishing training camp in Miyazaki, Japan, starting on October 30 to instruct the players.
