Lee Min-jae (14, Hopyeong Middle School), a kart champion born in 2012, will compete in the eN1 class, the top-tier electric vehicle race of the Hyundai N Festival, as a member of MIK Racing for the 2027 season.
MIK Racing announced on October 23, "Starting with the 2027 season, we have signed a three-year contract with Lee Min-jae through 2029." The team added, "Beginning with participation in the eN1 class in 2027, the team and driver will grow together toward future advances into various domestic and international competitions."
Lee Min-jae is the son of Lee Dong-wook, who was the first domestic driver to advance to the Formula 3 (F3) Euro Series.
Inheriting his father's racing instincts, Lee entered karting in 2019 at the age of seven. He emerged as a karting prodigy by winning four consecutive championship titles, including back-to-back victories in the Korea Kart Championship Micro Class from 2020 to 2021 and the Mini Class from 2022 to 2023.
Lee, a second-year middle school student, proved his skills by securing four wins in nine rounds of the Senior Class at the 2026 KARA Kart Championship, becoming the youngest series champion in history.
Lee shared his thoughts, saying, "I want to learn a lot from MIK Racing, build experience step by step, and quickly take on the challenge of the eN1 electric vehicle race."
