A daughter who murdered her biological mother at her home in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, has been apprehended by the police.

The Seoul Gangseo Police Station announced that it emergency arrested a woman in her 40s, A, on murder charges at around 8:40 AM today (October 22) in Ujangsan-dong, Gangseo-gu.

Prior to the arrest, at around 8:15 AM, A reported herself to the police, stating that she "did a bad thing to her stepmother." After confirming that the victim is actually A's biological mother, the police plan to modify the charge to parricide for the investigation.

At the time of the crime, only the victim and A were in the house, and it has been reported that no financial disputes or ill feelings between the mother and daughter have been identified so far.

The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, including the motive for the crime.
