The portal service of Yonsei University has been hacked, resulting in the leakage of personal information belonging to approximately 10,000 individuals, including current students.

Yonsei University's Office of Information and Communications announced through a notice titled "Notice on Personal Information Leakage" today (October 22), stating, "It has been confirmed that unauthorized external access to the Yonsei portal service led to the leakage of personal information of some members," adding, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern due to this incident."

The leaked information includes student ID numbers, mobile phone numbers, email addresses, and certain system management information for current and former students.

Yonsei University explained, "Unique identification information such as resident registration numbers and sensitive information were not included."
