It has been confirmed that 'Bukang-i,' a dusky shark that had left the waterway at the Busan North Port Waterfront Park, has crossed the first barrier, known as a 'pontoon,' and re-entered the inner section of the waterway.
Bukang-i was moved out of the waterway at around 6:00 p.m. yesterday (October 21) following the authorities' third guidance operation, but it has continued to linger near the entrance of the waterway this morning (October 22).
At around 11:00 p.m. yesterday, the shark was captured entering the inside of the pontoon, a floating facility installed as the first barrier to prevent re-entry into the waterway.
Authorities had attempted to block Bukang-i from returning to the inner waterway by fixing nets to this structure, which is about 3 to 4 meters wide.
However, Bukang-i passed through the structure and made its way back into the waterway.

Nevertheless, for Bukang-i to return to the waterway between the 4th and 5th pedestrian bridges where it previously stayed, it must pass through two additional net barriers marked by yellow buoys.
Currently, the area where Bukang-i is staying is a zone measuring approximately 30 meters by 30 meters between the first barrier (the pontoon) and the second net.
Bukang-i has been repeatedly circling this narrow space and revealing its presence above the water surface.
