"Invest and make a huge profit"—could claims like these possibly be true?

It certainly sounds like news of a scam.

A woman who swindled 400 million won from victims of stock investment reading scams

has ultimately been caught by the police.

This took place at a hotel café in Seoul last month.

A woman orders coffee and appears to be waiting for someone.

What she was waiting for was 134 million won worth of gold.

Posing as a financial company employee, the woman had approached victims who fell for stock reading investment scams promising "huge returns if you invest," and collected gold from them.

She committed the crimes five times, and the total damage amounted to 400 million won.

The police analyzed CCTV footage and conducted neighborhood inquiries to identify the woman.

Continuing to track her location, officers confirmed that she visited a restaurant with an acquaintance and arrested her at the scene.

It is reported that even after being apprehended, the woman denied the crimes but was eventually placed under arrest.
