The weather has turned sharply colder as cold winds moved in after the rain stopped. Tomorrow morning (October 22), it will be cold enough to pull out your winter clothes, marking the coldest weather this autumn. Let's connect with the weather forecaster stationed at Yeongdeungpo, Seoul during the evening commute.
Forecaster Nam Yu-jin, how cold is it going to get tomorrow?
[Weather Forecaster]
Until this morning, the weather didn't feel particularly cold.
Now, however, the air feels noticeably different.
As the rain clouds cleared this morning and cold air rushed in right behind them, temperatures have already plummeted by a whopping 8 degrees compared to this time yesterday.
Tomorrow morning, the weather will be cold enough that wearing a winter coat will be completely appropriate.
Cold wave advisories have also been issued in various parts of the country.
Cold wave advisories take effect in areas where temperatures drop by more than 10 degrees compared to the previous day, are more than 3 degrees lower than average years, and fall to 3 degrees Celsius or lower.
With cold wave advisories issued for the central regions, eastern Jeonbuk, and the inland areas of Gyeongsang, tomorrow morning's temperature is expected to drop to 0 degrees Celsius (32°F) in Paju and minus 3 degrees Celsius (26°F) in Daegwallyeong. In Seoul, although a cold wave advisory has not been issued, the temperature will plunge by about 9 degrees from this morning, making it the coldest morning this autumn.
Even during the day, Seoul will stay at 16 degrees Celsius (61°F), maintaining a chilly feel all day long.
Currently, strong wind advisories are in effect mainly along the coast and in Jeju.
These are expected to be gradually lifted tonight.
This cold spell will not last very long.
Until the morning of the day after tomorrow, which is Sanggang (the descent of frost), temperatures will remain somewhat below normal, but as temperatures rise starting from the daytime, mild autumn weather typical for this time of year is expected again over the weekend.
However, temperatures will plunge again after a round of rain hits the Chungcheong and southern regions over the weekend.
With temperatures fluctuating up and down so drastically these days,
because these shifts are so erratic, you will need to take better care of your health than ever before.
