The Daegu District Court announced today (October 21) that Judge Jeon Myeong-hwan of Criminal Division 11 sentenced a 25-year-old daycare teacher, surnamed A, to a fine of 15 million won on charges of aiding and abetting violations of the Special Act on Prevention of Losses from Telephonic Financial Fraud and Refund of Losses by using her account to deliver voice phishing proceeds.

A was put on trial for helping commit the crime by transferring 5 million won of criminal proceeds deposited into her account to an account under another person's name, following instructions from voice phishing syndicate members in October 2024.

Investigations showed that A was offered a daily allowance of 160,000 won in exchange for her involvement in the crime.

Judge Jeon stated the reason for the sentencing, taking into consideration factors such as the fact that A acquired a relatively small profit compared to the amount of damage.
