The Miryang Police Station in Gyeongnam Province announced today (October 21) that it has apprehended and is currently investigating a Cambodian man in his 30s, identified as A, on charges of fatally stabbing a compatriot outside a pub.

A is accused of stabbing a man in his 20s of the same nationality, identified as B, multiple times with a weapon outside a singing pub on a street in Miryang at around 1:43 a.m. on October 18, resulting in B's death.

Police found that A committed the crime following an argument with B that started inside the pub and escalated into a physical altercation outside.

Tracing A's whereabouts, the police executed an emergency arrest at Incheon International Airport at around 4:10 p.m. on the same day.

During police questioning, A confessed to the crime, and the police applied for an arrest warrant for A on October 19.

The pre-trial detention hearing is scheduled to be held today.

Meanwhile, the International Crime Investigation Unit of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency is also tracking down additional Cambodian accomplices suspected of jointly assaulting B at the time.
