President Lee Jae-myung visited a public housing construction site in the Incheon Gyeyang district.

The Incheon Gyeyang district is where move-ins will begin first this coming December, among some 330,000 households planned for the capital area's third-generation new towns announced under the Moon Jae-in administration.

After receiving a briefing on the status of the new town development, President Lee stressed "rapid housing supply."

During an on-site meeting, President Lee also remarked that the prompt housing supply in third-generation new towns will be a turning point deciding the success or failure of real estate policy.

[President Lee Jae-myung: If we appear unable to properly implement the supply policies we have already announced, the public's confidence in overall real estate policies will inevitably fall. What matters most is speed.]

In particular, he ordered officials to do their best to advance actual groundbreaking schedules by even a single day, and reiterated the call for a "supply blitz" during a Cabinet meeting.

[President Lee Jae-myung: I ask you to launch a supply blitz by shortening as much as possible the time required from site development to various permits, approvals, and groundbreaking.]

President Lee also urged bold reforms, stating that any systems or regulations that hinder swift supply must all be revised.
