President Lee Jae-myung visited a public housing construction site in the Gyeyang district of Incheon.
The Gyeyang district in Incheon is the very first area where move-ins will begin this coming December, among the approximately 330,000 households planned for the third-generation new towns in the capital region announced under the Moon Jae-in administration.
After receiving a briefing on the progress of the new town development, President Lee emphasized "swift housing supply."
[President Lee Jae-myung: "We must bring forward new supply as much as possible."]
During an on-site meeting, President Lee also noted that the prompt delivery of homes in the third-generation new towns would serve as a turning point determining the success or failure of real estate policy.
[President Lee Jae-myung: "If we appear unable to properly implement the supply policies we have already announced, the public's trust in real estate policy overall cannot help but fall. What matters most is speed."]
In particular, he instructed officials to make every effort to advance groundbreaking schedules even by a single day, while also emphasizing a "supply blitz" during a Cabinet meeting.
[President Lee Jae-myung: "I ask you to shorten the time required from land development to various permits, approvals, and groundbreaking as much as possible to carry out a supply blitz."]
President Lee also called for bold improvements, stating that any systems or regulations hindering swift supply must be overhauled.
