A man in his 60s has been arrested by police after visiting a city hall, spraying himself with an inflammable substance, and causing a disturbance.

According to authorities, the man, identified as A, went to the duty office of Gwangju City Hall in Gyeonggi Province at around 8:35 p.m. yesterday (October 20) and protested over a wage payment issue by spraying an inflammable substance on his body.

Police responding to the emergency call subdued A within about 10 minutes with the assistance of city hall staff, preventing any casualties.

An official from Gwangju City stated, "A demanded his wages be paid, but upon verification, the money had already been deposited normally."
