▲ President Lee Jae-myung presides over the first plenary meeting of the Regulatory Rationalization Committee at Cheong Wa Dae on April 15. This meeting was the first plenary session held after the 'Regulatory Reform Committee' was reorganized into the 'Regulatory Rationalization Committee' for the first time in 28 years.
On October 23, President Lee Jae-myung will preside over the second plenary meeting of the Regulatory Rationalization Committee at Cheong Wa Dae, discussing directions and detailed measures for regulatory rationalization to foster super-gap high-tech industries, drive regionally-led growth, and transition toward a national era of startups.
This marks the second time President Lee has presided over a plenary meeting of the Regulatory Rationalization Committee, following the first in April.
In the first session, the Office for Government Policy Coordination will report on "Directions for Regulatory Rationalization to Support Mega-Projects and 5-Pole, 3-Special Zone Growth Engines." Following this, relevant government ministries will present measures to eliminate on-site regulatory obstacles across industries, including robotics, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, autonomous vehicles, and bio.
In the subsequent second session, presentations by various ministries will follow, starting with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' report on "Regulatory Rationalization Plans for Startups."
After the presentations in each session, open discussions will be held among committee members, private companies, and experts.
Around 100 participants from the private sector, government, and Cheong Wa Dae are scheduled to attend the meeting.
From the private sector, along with three vice chairs and 25 civilian committee members, about 40 corporate representatives and experts related to the agenda items have been invited to hear on-site difficulties and recommendations for field-oriented discussions.
