Samsung, which finished at the bottom of the standings for five consecutive seasons, defeated DB, a strong championship contender, to extend its winning streak to five games to start the season.

Leading 46–45 at halftime, Samsung exploded for 37 points in the third quarter alone.

At the center of the offense was foreign player Kanter.

He shook up the defense with dazzling drives, delivered well-timed passes, and even threw down a dunk himself.

Entering the fourth quarter with a 15-point lead, Samsung faced a fierce chase from DB, but veteran Lee Kwan-hee's performance prevented any comeback.

With a 95–92 victory over championship favorite DB, Samsung kept its sensation alive by cruising to its fifth straight win.

In another match, second-place Jung Kwan Jang defeated KT to claim its third consecutive victory.

Abando seized the early momentum with a 360-degree spinning slam dunk, while Byun Jun-hyung, who returned with an Asian Games gold medal, led the team to victory with a game-high 18 points, including four three-pointers.
