Next, we have another story. With the warm weather, it was a day filled with citizens heading outdoors to enjoy the autumn atmosphere. However, the weather is set to change again tomorrow (October 18). Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is forecasted.

Reporter Shin Yong-il has the details.

This is Hangang Park in Yeouido, Seoul.

People lean against trees under brightly colored autumn foliage, deep in concentration while reading, and a mother and daughter read a fairy tale together line by line.

The area was packed with citizens, including families with children and couples, out for a so-called unlimited "book-mung" festival—a compound word combining books and "meong" (spacing out), meaning to relax and enjoy reading blankly.

With daytime highs reaching 25 degrees Celsius (77°F) in Seoul and Daegu, and 27 degrees Celsius (81°F) in Gwangju, temperatures nationwide were generally mild, allowing citizens to fully savor the warm autumn scenery in the middle of October.

[Kwon Helena, Lee Eun-hak / Anyang, Gyeonggi Province: Actually, we thought it would be a bit chilly, so we all wore long sleeves and even brought jumpers. But as soon as we came out, it was so warm that we feel like we chose the wrong clothes today.]

While a child with rolled-up trousers cuts through the water to cool off from the heat,

Citizens dressed in short-sleeved shirts and shorts are also easily spotted.

However, starting in the central region tomorrow morning, turbulent autumn rain is expected across most parts of the country by the afternoon.

Forecasted rainfall amounts are 30 to 80 millimeters for the greater Seoul area, Chungcheong, and Jeonbuk; 20 to 70 millimeters for Gangwon; 20 to 60 millimeters for Jeonnam; 10 to 50 millimeters for Yeongnam; and 10 to 60 millimeters for Jeju Island.

Some areas may experience heavy downpours of 20 to 30 millimeters per hour, accompanied by gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning.

The rain is expected to mostly stop in the central regions tomorrow night and in the southern regions by Monday morning, and temperatures next week are forecasted to drop lower than this week, leading to chilly weather.
