At approximately 11:05 a.m. today (October 17), an SUV crashed into two oncoming motorcycles in succession along the Yeowonjae mountain pass in Ibaek-myeon, Namwon, North Jeolla Province.

The collision resulted in the death of the driver of a 1,300cc motorcycle, a person in their 50s, while two others—the rider of another 1,000cc motorcycle and the driver of the SUV—sustained injuries.

Police believe the SUV crossed the center line and collided with the motorcycles traveling down the opposite lane, and are currently investigating the exact cause and circumstances of the accident.
