However, President Trump abruptly canceled the live broadcast plan.

He took a step back in the face of pressure from political circles and fierce public backlash.

This appears to be a decision to block potential political blowback ahead of the midterms.

Even so, the very idea of live-broadcasting the execution of a human being by firing squad has left the entire world shaking its head at the Trump administration.
