Actor Lee El is set to take over as the host of "Cinetown," succeeding Park Haseon.
On October 16, SBS announced, "Actor Lee El will host SBS Power FM's 'Lee El's Cinetown' starting November 2."
Lee El has been selected to succeed actor Park Haseon, who led the program for six years. She will meet listeners every day at 11:00 AM.
Having earned wide acclaim for her distinctive acting in the film "Inside Men" and dramas such as "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," "My Liberation Notes," "Queen Mantis," and "Battle for Happiness", Lee El has also been recognized beyond her acting career for her uniquely captivating voice and witty banter, having previously served as a special host and narrator across multiple broadcasts.
The SBS Power FM production team explained the reason behind her casting: "Lee El is an actor with an enchanting voice that instantly captures the listener's ear, along with her own distinct personality. Beyond the intense presence she has shown in her acting projects, she also possesses an easygoing and friendly charm as a host."
The team added, "Lee El possesses a broad perspective that encompasses not only film and music, but also the everyday lives of our listeners. With her unique sensibility and delightful wit, we anticipate she will become a host listeners will want to keep by their side for a long time."
First launched in 1999, "Cinetown" is SBS Power FM's flagship film radio program, previously hosted by figures including Song Seung-whan, Shim Hye-jin, Lee Seung-yeon, Kong Hyung-jin, announcer Park Sun-young, announcer Jang Ye-won, and Park Haseon.
"Lee El's Cinetown" will premiere on November 2.
