The youth gene.
What if you could turn aging cells back to youth as time goes on?
New research findings have emerged that could provide clues to slowing down aging.
An international research team, including researchers from Harvard University, has discovered a specific gene that regulates cellular aging.
When the research team activated the function of this gene in aged human skin cells, cellular aging and inflammatory signals decreased, and the characteristics of young cells were restored.
In experiments with aged mice, the progression of frailty decreased by 44%, and the median survival period increased by 14%.
However, as this is still at the stage of cultured human cells and animal experiments, additional research is needed before it can lead to actual treatments.
