Playing as an attacking midfielder for the second consecutive match since the appointment of interim manager Tamarit, Son saw two of his shots in the first half fall flat, but he spread his wings in the second half by taking on a more free-roaming role.
In the 6th minute of the second half, when his right-footed shot in front of the goal was blocked by the defense, he unselfishly passed the ball, which Bouanga finished off for the opening goal.
LAFC conceded an equalizer in the 21st minute of the second half due to a defensive lapse, but just a minute later, Son's tenacity decided the match.
Flustered by relentless pressure, the opposing goalkeeper hurriedly cleared the ball, which deflected off Son's chest and rolled to the side, allowing his "partner" Bouanga to shake the net once again.
Recording his 15th assist of the league season, Son surpassed superstar Messi to climb to the top of the assist leaderboard alone.
And five minutes later, he put the game away himself.
When goalkeeper Lloris launched a long ball that traveled down the flank and into the goalmouth, Son sprinted forward with incredible speed and neatly finished it off.

Sparked by Son's performance—including his 7th league goal and two assists—LAFC secured a 3-1 victory, snapping a five-game winless skid and maintaining their 6th place standing.
With four regular-season games remaining and stepping closer to his first-ever assist title, Son will head to New York for an away match this coming Sunday.
