The Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) announced that the ultra-small cluster satellites No. 2 through 6, launched on October 7, successfully captured and transmitted their first ground-observation images approximately 14 hours and 29 minutes after launch.
This indicates that the satellites and their optical payloads are functioning normally.
It is reported that all five satellites—Numbers 2 through 6—are currently maintaining smooth communications with ground stations, while their power generation and attitude control systems are also operating normally.
KASA also released early acquired images of Cleveland, Ohio, and Montgomery in the United States.
KASA explained that it had secured initial operational know-how through previously launched prototype and verification models, which enabled the rapid acquisition of images in a short timeframe.
The ultra-small cluster satellites No. 2 through 6 were placed into space orbit on October 7 using the Korean space launch vehicle Nuri from the Naro Space Center in Goheung, Jeollanam-do.
