As LG and Doosan faced each other in a Wild Card game for the first time at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, which is scheduled for demolition after this season, a sellout crowd of 23,650 filled the stands with fierce energy.

LG seized the early initiative with a single blow.

In the bottom of the first inning with one out and a runner on first, Austin, celebrating his 33rd birthday, pulled a curveball from Kwak 빈 to launch a two-run home run over the left-field wall.

LG missed a golden opportunity with no outs and the bases loaded in the second inning following an opponent fielding error, as Hong Chang-ki, Park Hae-min, and Austin all struck out against Kwak 빈, failing to extend their lead.

In the top of the seventh with one out and the bases loaded, LG allowed a potential extra-base hit to pinch hitter Yang Seok-hwan, but center fielder Park Hae-min traded an out for just one run with his trademark defense.

Having escaped the crisis giving up a minimum of runs, LG scored a precious insurance run in the eighth with one out and runners on first and third on Shin Min-jae's squeeze bunt, and sealed the victory with another run on a wild pitch by Lee Young-ha with two outs and runners on second and third.

LG defeated Doosan 4-1 to pass the Wild Card series and advance to the semi-playoffs.

[Park Hae-min / LG Outfielder: I feel so proud that we were able to show that the LG Twins do not easily collapse and are truly strong. We will head over to Gwangju, play well, and do our best so that our return game here at Jamsil Baseball Stadium won't be our last.]

Doosan bowed out as ace Kwak 빈 pitched 6 innings allowing 2 runs with 10 strikeouts, but the silence of the batting lineup forced them to bid farewell to Jamsil Baseball Stadium.

Having wrapped up the Wild Card in a single game to secure two days of rest, LG will face regular-season third-place KIA in a best-of-five semi-playoff starting this Saturday.
