We continue with breaking news on the stabbing rampage that took place in Incheon yesterday (October 13). The suspect, identified by the surname Choi, told police that he targeted individuals he perceived as weaker than himself. Newly obtained CCTV footage secured by our reporting team shows that Choi indeed carried out his crimes in this manner. Standing in his path were courageous citizens armed with chairs and umbrellas.

The brutal rampage by Choi, the suspect in the Guwol-dong, Incheon stabbing incident, began in the second-floor restaurant area of a multi-use commercial complex.

With weapons strapped to both hands, Choi rushed toward a female restaurant employee, instantly transforming a peaceful daily scene into a site of terror.

Startled citizens began scattering amid screams, and Choi pursued them at a brisk pace, much like a predator chasing its prey.

[Oh my goodness, what do we do? Oh my goodness, why is he doing that?]

The owners of a snack bar who confronted Choi with long umbrellas out of urgency first pulled down their shop's security shutter and called 112.

[Please come quickly. This is no lie, you need to come quickly. People are getting hurt right now and it is utter chaos.]

Amid the indiscriminate stabbing rampage, one citizen who fought back against Choi by throwing a chair fell while dodging a weapon and tumbled down toward the lower part of the escalator.

As citizens holding chairs gathered one by one to close in on him,

Choi then boarded an upward-moving escalator, heading back up to the fourth floor where the movie theater is located.

A short while later, Choi collapses after being hit by something. The person who threw a chair at Choi from the fourth floor was 23-year-old Shin Jung-hyun, who had come to watch a movie with his girlfriend.

Citizens on the third floor subdued the unconscious Choi with chairs and other objects, and with the arrival of the police, the five-minute indiscriminate stabbing rampage finally came to an end.

According to police investigations, Choi stated, "I chose people who looked weaker than me."

Regarding the five citizens who risked danger to help apprehend Choi, police stated, "We will take measures to ensure they receive appropriate rewards."
