Internet streamer limahni has issued an apology after coming under fire for comparing a stabbing rampage in Guwol-dong, Incheon, to a video game character.

In the early morning hours of October 14, limahni posted a notice titled "I Am Sorry" on her SOOP channel, stating, "While communicating during the broadcast, I learned about an unfortunate incident, and in the middle of content watched by many people, I caused trouble by comparing the stabbing incident to a Zealot. I am sorry." She continued, "Regardless of what my intentions were, it is entirely my fault," adding, "I once again apologize to the victims and those around them regarding today's incident."

Earlier, limahni sparked backlash during her stream while mentioning the Incheon knife rampage, saying, "He tied knives to both arms and went around on the escalator like a Zealot, stabbing 20 people." A Zealot is a melee combat unit belonging to the Protoss race in the real-time strategy game "StarCraft," known as a character that attacks enemies with blades equipped on both arms. When viewers pointed out her inappropriate remarks during the broadcast, she reportedly reacted by telling them, "Just leave."

As the criticism escalated, limahni acknowledged in her statement, "At first, I did not realize the gravity of the situation or my wrongdoing. The remarks I made were also emotional, which only made things worse." She added, "I also apologize for delivering an apology with an inappropriate attitude and attire before ending the stream in a disorganized and unprepared state."

limahni stated, "I am deeply reflecting on my thoughtlessness today, and I will realize the weight of my words as a streamer and take responsibility. Moving forward, I will think much more carefully whenever I speak about anything." She concluded, "I also apologize to the fans and viewers whom I have disappointed. I am sorry for causing controversy late at night."

Earlier, at around 1:40 p.m. on October 13, a 59-year-old individual identified as A attacked citizens with weapons secured to both hands at a commercial complex in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon. According to the Incheon Fire Headquarters, eight people were injured in the attack and taken to the hospital, with one woman in her 20s undergoing surgery after suffering cardiac arrest.
