China's state-run Xinhua News Agency has reported that the New Yalu River Bridge, connecting Dandong in China's Liaoning Province and Sinuiju in North Pyongan Province, North Korea, will officially open tomorrow (the 15th).
Xinhua reported, "Following consultations between China and North Korea, the newly constructed New Yalu River Bridge will officially open on October 15," adding that a joint opening ceremony is scheduled to be held on the same day.
The New Yalu River Bridge, a four-lane round-trip bridge with a total length of 3,026 meters, was completed in 2014. However, its opening had been delayed due to reasons such as the lack of connecting roads and customs clearance facilities on the North Korean side, leading to its official opening 12 years later.
