The personal information of 53-year-old Park Yong-soo, who bound and murdered a couple in their 60s in Naju, South Jeolla Province, has been made public.

The Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency posted Park's personal information, including his age and mugshot, on its website starting at 10:00 a.m. today.

The police held a deliberation committee on the disclosure of personal information yesterday and decided to release his identity, determining that the case met the requirements for disclosure, such as the brutality of the crime, the severity of the damage, the public's right to know, and the public interest in preventing recidivism.

The disclosure period for Park, who has no fixed occupation, will run from today until November 13, which is 30 days later.

Park was arrested on charges of stabbing and strangling to death a couple in their 60s, who were acquaintances, at a home in Naju, South Jeolla Province, between 9:28 p.m. and 11:57 p.m. on the 5th.

He is also accused of taking the victims' cash cards after the crime and withdrawing 6 million won from their accounts.

The couple was found dead the following afternoon with their hands and feet bound.

Park reportedly stated during police questioning that he "went to collect money he had lent them."

The police plan to transfer Park to the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office on the 16th.
