YG Entertainment Executive Producer Yang Hyun-suk (56) has shared updates regarding the release schedules of its artists and preparations for next-generation rookie groups.
Yang posted a message on the fan communication channel "FROM YG" at 2:34 a.m. on October 14, stating, "While we have previously delivered news of our artists through YG ANNOUNCEMENT videos, I am greeting you with a written message after a long while due to a busy production schedule."
According to the announcement, BABYMONSTER will release a new digital single titled "DESERVE" on October 23. This marks their first new music in about four months since "SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA." Describing "DESERVE," Yang said, "Although it is a slow song, it carries stronger energy than any track we have released so far," adding, "It is a song that captures the peak of emotion, blending BABYMONSTER's delicate vocals with explosive singing power."
TREASURE will release a new digital single titled "SHOCK" on November 2. Yang explained, "It is a track containing an intense hip-hop sound." TREASURE showcased various hip-hop genres through their mini-album "NEW WAV" last June. Yang described the album as "the beginning of Act 2," and asked for high expectations and support for their full-scale Act 2 activities extending into 2027 along with this new single.
Yang also shared news regarding rookie groups. He stated, "YG is currently preparing for the debut of a 5-member boy group and a 4-member girl group as our next-generation rookies," adding, "Along with TREASURE and BABYMONSTER, these two groups are very important artists who will lead YG's future."
He continued, "Both groups plan to record various demo tracks they have prepared through the end of the year, and once the title tracks are decided, we expect their specific debut schedules to be finalized."
