A horrific incident has taken place. Today (October 13) at noon, a man in his 50s brandished a weapon against citizens at a multi-use commercial complex in Incheon. Nine people were injured, and one of them, a person in their 20s, was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest. Although their pulse has been restored, they have reportedly not yet regained consciousness.

People inside the building flee in a panic as if startled by something, and a store employee quickly heads inside and closes the door.

Moments later, a man wearing a hat walks down the hallway.

He wanders around the restaurant area with weapons in both hands.

At around 1:40 PM today, a man in his 50s, surnamed Choi, wielded a weapon against visitors inside a large multi-use commercial complex in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon.

The restaurant area where the incident occurred has been cordoned off with police control lines and has suspended operations.

Nine visitors inside the complex were stabbed by the weapon wielded by Choi and taken to the hospital.

Among them, a woman in her 20s was transported in a state of cardiac arrest. Following emergency surgery, her pulse has begun to beat, but she has reportedly not yet regained consciousness.

Police investigations indicate that Choi moved between the second basement level and the third floor above ground of the commercial complex via escalators while brandishing the weapon.

Police stated that multiple citizens subdued Choi after a physical struggle as he wielded weapons against visitors for unknown reasons.

Receiving related reports, fire authorities set up an emergency medical station on the first floor of the complex, concerned about the possibility of multiple casualties.

Police have arrested Choi on charges of attempted murder and plan to apply for an arrest warrant after investigating the specific motive for the crime.
