▲ Lim Ki-keun, Minister for Government Policy Coordination, shakes hands with Representative Yoo Dong-soo of the Democratic Party of Korea (MINJU), chairman of the National Policy Committee, after submitting a written oath during the parliamentary audit of the Office for Government Policy Coordination and the Prime Minister's Secretariat at the National Assembly on October 13.

Lim Ki-keun, Minister for Government Policy Coordination, said, "This year marks the second year of the People's Sovereignty Government, making it a critical time to deliver tangible results that the public can truly feel."

Minister Lim made the remarks during a work report at the parliamentary audit of the Office for Government Policy Coordination by the National Assembly's National Policy Committee today (October 13), saying, "The past year since the government's inauguration has been a year of laying the groundwork for a great leap forward for the Republic of Korea based on recovery and normalization."

He pointed out, "The internal and external conditions we face are by no means easy," adding, "In addition to structural challenges such as AI (artificial intelligence) technology competition, low birth rates, an aging society, polarization, regional depopulation, and the climate crisis, external crises including the spread of protectionism and instability in the Middle East are intricately intertwined."

He continued, "The Office for Government Policy Coordination has made every effort to coordinate and inspect major policies so that they lead to tangible results on the ground," explaining that "as a result, record exports and growth are being achieved, and with the goal of a government that saves lives, deaths from suicides and industrial accidents as well as harm from livelihood crimes are also being reduced."

Nevertheless, Minister Lim emphasized, "There are still shortcomings in allowing the public to tangibly feel these achievements in their daily lives," adding, "More thought and effort are needed until the trend of overcoming crises and recovering growth manifests as improvements in the lives of each and every citizen."
