The Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB) have won both the first and second games of the National League Championship Series (NLCS, best-of-seven) against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Milwaukee defeated the Dodgers 7-4 in Game 2 of the 2026 MLB Postseason NLCS held at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 13.

Having seized the initiative with a 2-1 victory in a dazzling pitching duel in Game 1 the previous day, Milwaukee secured a victory in Game 2 as well, taking a step closer to avenging their NLCS loss from last year.

Last year, Milwaukee was eliminated by the Dodgers in the NLCS, losing all four games.

The two teams will move to the Dodgers' home ground, Uniqlo Field at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, to play Game 3 of the NLCS on October 15.

After trading a run each in the first inning, the Dodgers were the first to break the tie between the two teams.

In the top of the third inning with one out and runners on first and third, Dodgers runner Tommy Edman crossed home plate to take a 2-1 lead after Milwaukee starting pitcher Logan Henderson committed a throwing error on a pickoff attempt to third base.

Then, in the bottom of the third with two outs and runners on first and second, Milwaukee's Jake Bauers drew a walk from Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto to load the bases, and Christian Yelich hit a two-run single to turn the game around at 3-2.

In the top of the fifth inning with no outs and a runner on second, the Dodgers tied the game following a throwing error by Henderson on Edman's sacrifice bunt, and then took the lead again on a sacrifice fly by Freddie Freeman.

That was the Dodgers' final scoring of the day.

Milwaukee tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run by William Contreras, and Contreras drove in another run with a single in the sixth to make it 5-4.

Gaining momentum, Milwaukee pulled ahead 7-4 in the eighth with consecutive RBI singles by Brice Turang and Bauers, firmly tilting the momentum in their favor.

Despite starting pitcher Henderson falling short of expectations with 4 innings pitched, 3 hits allowed, and 4 runs allowed (2 earned runs) while committing two errors himself, Milwaukee relied on a strong bullpen to shut out the remaining 5 innings without allowing a run.

In the batting lineup, Contreras led the charge in defeating the Dodgers, going 3-for-4 with a home run, 3 RBIs, and a walk.

For the Dodgers, "autumn man" Yamamoto collapsed early, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits in 2 and two-thirds innings, and despite an all-out effort utilizing 7 relief pitchers, they failed to stop the surging Milwaukee bats.

Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani, starting in the cleanup spot, went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, showing that he has yet to break out of the slump that has persisted since the second half of the season.
