North Korea held an opening ceremony for the Second Economic Committee's Defense Revolution Museum, attended by General Secretary Kim Jong-un.

While inspecting the weapon systems on display, including intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), Kim emphasized that he would "more vigorously develop and perfect" "Juche weapons."

The Korean Central News Agency reported today, two days later, that an opening ceremony for the Defense Revolution Museum was held grandly on October 11 to mark the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Kim was accompanied to the opening ceremony by his wife Ri Sol-ju, daughter Kim Ju-ae, and younger sister Kim Yo-jong, director of the General Affairs Department, among others.

Following the performance of the national anthem, attendees watched a video on armed equipment deployed to the military, and the commemorative opening address was delivered by Kim Jong-sik, first vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the news agency reported.

After cutting the ribbon at the opening ceremony, Kim said that the museum is "an immortal repository of records that intensively and intuitively shows how peace on this land was achieved, and a national treasure among national treasures."

He continued, "Building the world's strongest defense industry is a natural calling and a unique mode of operation," stressing that "powerful Juche weapons will be developed and perfected even more vigorously" and that "the scale and content of the museum will be expanded and enriched day by day."

The ceremony was attended by officials from the party's central leadership organs, including secretaries of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, leading officials in the defense industry sector, commanders of the Ministry of National Defence, service commanders, commanders of major combined units, and builders.
