[Do we really have to subjugate that with this team?]

The animated film "Chiikawa the Movie: Secret of the Mermaid Island," featuring Japan's popular character Chiikawa, has recently surpassed 1 million moviegoers.

This marks the third-highest box office performance among animated films released this year, following "Toy Story 5" and "Super Mario Galaxy."

Currently ranking second at the box office, "Chiikawa the Movie" tells the story of Chiikawa and friends as they head to an uncharted island and uncover the secrets hidden within.

Despite their small and cute appearance, the characters depict a grueling daily life involving earning money and preparing for certifications.

Audiences are resonating with the heavy narrative that contrasts with the harmless appearance of the cute characters.
