Tanker Struck by Projectile in Strait of Hormuz... "Crew Safe"

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced on the 11th (local time) that it has received a report of a vessel being struck in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the UKMTO, a company security officer (CSO) reported that the port side of an oil tanker exiting the strait was damaged after being hit by an unidentified projectile.

It was confirmed that there were no casualties among the crew, and no marine environmental damage, such as an oil spill, has been reported immediately following the attack.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident.

The UKMTO urged vessels passing through the area to exercise extreme caution and advised them to report any suspicious activity to the agency immediately.
