Nvidia in Talks for Additional Investment or Acquisition of AI Startup Reflection AI: FT

Nvidia is in discussions for additional investment or the acquisition of artificial intelligence (AI) startup Reflection AI, the British daily Financial Times (FT) reported on the 10th (local time).

Citing sources familiar with the matter, the FT reported that Nvidia is currently holding early-stage discussions regarding these options.

While the deal could take various forms, discussions are reportedly underway to hire key personnel and secure technology licensing rights rather than pursuing a full corporate acquisition.

In such a scenario, it could potentially avoid lengthy regulatory reviews, the FT noted.

Nvidia is already a major investor in Reflection AI, having previously invested $800 million (approximately 1.075 trillion won).

Founded in 2024 by two former Google DeepMind researchers, Reflection AI develops AI technology that automates software development.

On the 5th, Reflection AI released its first open-weight AI model, "Beam," entering into competition with low-cost AI models from China such as DeepSeek and Kimi.
