A fire broke out in a passenger plane preparing for takeoff at Cheongju Airport.

At 7:15 p.m. today (October 10), a fire broke out in an auxiliary battery belonging to a passenger aboard a Jeju Air flight scheduled to depart from Cheongju Airport for Jeju.

It is reported that a passenger sitting in the adjacent seat extinguished the fire by covering the auxiliary battery with clothing.

There were no injuries from the fire, and all 168 passengers on board the aircraft were safely evacuated.

Jeju Air announced plans to operate a replacement flight at 1:15 a.m. tomorrow.
