In professional basketball, DB, widely considered the top championship favorite for this season, defeated the defending champion KCC thanks to stellar performances from their foreign players.

New DB head coach Lee Kyu-sub, who helped lead KCC to a championship victory last season as the team's senior assistant coach, faced off against KCC head coach Lee Sang-min in their first head-to-head match as bench bosses.

The fortunes of the two teams were decided by the performances of their foreign players.

DB's Allenson poured in 24 points, using his quick speed despite his 208-centimeter height to drive into the paint while draining mid-range shots and three-pointers. Hammond, who transferred from Hyundai Mobis to DB, added 18 points.

On the other hand, KCC fell short by 6 points as their two foreign players, Louis King and Shawn Long, managed only a combined 28 points and both fouled out of the game.

Gas Corporation secured their first win after three consecutive losses by defeating Hyundai Mobis, fueled by a stellar triangular partnership of Ra Guna, Aluma, and Belangel, who combined for 71 points.
