Asan Woori Bank, a women's professional basketball team, defeated Cheongju KB to advance to the final of the 2026 KB Kookmin Bank Park Shin-ja Cup, where they will face Japan's Fujitsu Red Wave.
Woori Bank edged out KB 65–63 in the tournament semifinal held at the Cheongju Gymnasium.
Woori Bank will face Fujitsu, the third-place finisher in the 2025–2026 season of Japan's W League, in the final scheduled for 5:00 PM on October 11 at the same venue.
Three years ago, Woori Bank finished as runner-up after losing to the Japanese team Toyota Antelopes in the tournament final.
They will now seek their first tournament title in a Korea-Japan showdown taking place three years later.
Fujitsu is aiming for its third consecutive tournament championship.
KB will play Incheon Shinhan Bank, which lost to Fujitsu, in the third-place match at 2:00 PM at the same venue.
The match between Woori Bank and KB was dubbed the "Kang Lee-seul Derby."
Kang Lee-seul, a star shooter for the South Korean national team, played for KB until last season before becoming a free agent and transferring to Woori Bank for 420 million won annually.
Kang led Woori Bank to victory by scoring a game-high 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.
Kim Dan-bi added 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Lee Myung-gwan contributed 12 points and 6 rebounds.
For KB, Heo Ye-eun put up a strong fight with 15 points and 8 assists.
In the earlier match, Fujitsu defeated Shinhan Bank 88–60.
Haru Owaki led the victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds, alongside Riho Akagi with 12 points.
For Shinhan Bank, Hong Yu-sun and Sakura Noguchi scored 12 points each.
