Lee Dae-han has surged to a tie for the lead at the Amazing Creek Open, a newly established tournament on the Korean Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour, after cutting eight strokes in a single round.
Playing in the third round of the tournament held at Flamingo Country Club in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, Lee shot an 8-under-par 62 with eight birdies and no bogeys.
Sitting in a tie for fifth place after the second round, Lee marked a three-round total of 14-under-par 196, climbing to joint first alongside Landon Kawallamani of the United States.
Lee grabbed back-to-back birdies on the 3rd and 5th holes on this day, and recorded his third birdie on the 9th hole.
On the back nine, he reeled off five birdies.
After landing his second shot 1.9 meters from the cup on the par-4 11th hole to successfully sink a birdie putt, he dropped a long-distance birdie putt measuring 11.15 meters into the hole on the 13th hole.
After catching consecutive birdies on the 15th and 16th holes, Lee wrapped up his round by recording a birdie on the final 18th hole (par 5).
Having debuted on the KPGA Tour in 2010, Lee went through a long period of obscurity before capturing his first career victory at the KPGA Tour Championship in November 2024.
Although he has failed to place in the top 10 even once this season, he has grabbed a chance for his second career win through this tournament.
Bae Yong-jun, who had been leading the field alone up to the second round by pulling 4 strokes ahead of the chasing group, shot an even-par 70 with five birdies, three bogeys, and a double bogey on this day, dropping to a tie for third place alongside Jeon Ga-ram with a three-round total of 12-under-par 198.
An Ji-min, who trimmed seven strokes on this day, is in fifth place at 11-under-par 199, while Jeon Sung-hyun, Park Eun-shin, and Kim Yong-tae are tied for sixth at 10-under-par 200.
Park Jung-hoon cut three strokes, which included a hole-in-one on the par-3 13th hole, moving up to a tie for ninth place at 9-under-par 201.
