An accident occurred while moving a kerosene tank in Gwangyang-eup, Gwangyang, Jeonnam-Gwangju, at around 10:50 a.m. today (the 10th), leaving one person dead and another injured.

According to fire authorities, the accident happened while a 2,300-liter kerosene tank was being moved using heavy equipment.

Person A, 70, was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest after being crushed by the kerosene tank and later died, while Person B, 76, sustained severe injuries suspected to include spinal damage and is receiving treatment at the hospital.

At the time of the incident, three people were reportedly working at the scene, including the two victims and Person C, the operator of the heavy equipment (loader).

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
