A fishing boat that departed from Incheon's Yeonan Pier collided with a reef in the waters near Palmido Island and began to flood, but all 22 people on board were safely rescued.

According to the Incheon Maritime Police Station, a report was received at the Incheon Coast Guard's Inhang substation at 7:43 a.m. today (October 10) stating that the 9.77-ton fishing boat Vessel A had hit a reef and was taking on water in the waters 3.88 kilometers south of Palmido Island in Yeongjong-gu, Incheon.

Upon receiving the report, the Coast Guard immediately dispatched one helicopter and nine patrol vessels to the scene, and together with fire authorities, the Incheon city government, and private fishing boats, successfully rescued all 22 passengers and crew members.

Among them, 10 showed symptoms such as bruises, but it was confirmed that there were no special abnormalities in their health conditions. No marine pollution occurred either.

Jang Dae-woon, head of the Incheon Maritime Police Station, urged, "When operating fishing boats, operators must thoroughly check the topography and water depth of surrounding waters and pay special attention to safe navigation," adding, "Please make sure to wear life jackets in preparation for unexpected marine accidents."
