A fire broke out on the first floor of an apartment in Hwangji-dong, Taebaek, Gangwon Province, at around 2:50 a.m. today (October 10), and was extinguished in 30 minutes, burning part of the interior.

The fire, presumed to have been caused by carbonized food, burned 10 square meters of the apartment's interior and a sink, causing approximately 4.4 million won in property damage.

The resident in her 40s was also injured and transported to the hospital.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
