A 14-ton cargo truck collided with a tow truck carrying a ladder truck in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, today (the 9th). The impact sent the ladder truck plunging beneath an overpass, leaving one person dead and two others injured.

A ladder truck and a tow truck are overturned next to an overpass.
The vehicles are wrecked beyond recognition, and debris is scattered across the road.
At around 7:40 a.m. today, a 14-ton cargo truck crashed into a tow truck carrying a ladder truck on an overpass in Done-dong, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
The broken-down ladder truck was being towed on the overpass when a truck crashed into it from behind, sending it plummeting below.
As the ladder truck and other vehicles fell, they crushed a passenger car waiting at a traffic light beneath the overpass.
[Police Official: As it fell, it impacted a passenger car waiting for a traffic signal in the lane under the overpass. (The cargo truck driver) is suspected of drowsy driving.]
The accident left the 50-year-old tow truck driver in cardiac arrest; he was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The ladder truck driver and the passenger car driver sustained injuries to their heads and backs, respectively.
Police have booked the cargo truck driver on charges of causing death and injury through occupational negligence under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents.

The front windshield of a city bus is shattered to pieces.
At around 7:36 a.m. today, on a road near Daejeon Station, a city bus successively crashed into five vehicles, including a passenger car that was waiting at a traffic light.
The accident injured a total of seven people, including the 50-year-old bus driver who sustained serious injuries, and they were transported to hospitals.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident, while investigations showed that the bus driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
